Doctors’ Surgeries

Doctors’ surgeries are available daily on weekdays, throughout the day except lunchtime; see our Opening Hours.

Why are GP practices still working differently?

Nurse appointments are available daily for the assessment of urgent medical problems.

They are able to monitor chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, asthma and chronic airways disease.

We do not offer walk in services – all appointments have to be triaged to allow us to maintain a Covid secure environment. Patients with minor injuries should present at Frome or Trowbridge Minor Injury Units. Trowbridge Minor Injury unit DO NOT offer a walk in service and appointments can be accessed by phoning 111. 

GP's are not contracted to undertake home visits by the NHS. We offer home visits only to those who are unable to leave the house. If you feel you need a home visit, requests for home visits should be made, before 11.30am in order to allow the doctors to structure their day. By requesting a home visit this does mean you will have a home visit. The doctor will usually telephone you back before committing to visit, in order to assess the problem more formally.

Our telephone service is available from 08:30 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday.

All telephone conversations are recorded for medico-legal and training purposes.

It is important that you inform the surgery if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. 

You can cancel a booked apppointment by using our cancellation line. Please call 01985 224600 and select option ‘1’. Please leave a voicemail containing your name, date of birth and the time and date of your appointment you wish to cancel.

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
